SALSA

The Ipanema System’s functions can be delivered through the SALSA platform as a service to hundreds of customer organizations and hundred of thousands of premises using a single, unified operation center. Thanks to the SALSA platform, it is now possible to build application-centric services on a large scale while keeping the Total Cost of Ownership to a minimum.

The SALSA platform was designed as a carrier-class software. It includes comprehensive OSS/BSS interfaces and complies with the highest security standards.

The SALSA platform allows for maximum customer service versatility thanks to its unique licensing model whereby a Service Provider can seamlessly transfer licensing rights between features, devices or customers using the concept of Ipanema Software Units.

The SALSA platform has a cluster architecture and its components include:

• ip|uniboss: the central front-end that unifies operations across customer domains

• ip|boss Server: the basic building block enabling operations over multiple customer domains. It manages all aspect of the Ipanema System and takes an active role in the collection and aggregation of the Visibility metric

• ip|boss Portal: the companion component to ip | boss Server that adds a Web-based interface to ip | boss Server features

• ip|reporter Server: the basic building block in charge of Visibility’s historical reporting functions for multiple customer domains

• ip|reporter Portal: the companion component to ip | reporter Server that adds a Web-based interface to
  ip|reporter Server features
